Wapiti by MariosKerpen Wapiti by MariosKerpen
Paper Mache, 2007.
This mask is replete with authentic elk teeth, a moveable strap-on jaw, insect eyes, and actual witches hair.

Why do I find "ugliness" so beautiful?? Why do I feel jovial when I look at the morbid? And why do I feel peace where others feel fear? I think Wapiti could answer some of these questions if he were not so busy on the talk show circuit. What do you think, 'o neighbor of Pine Street dwellers?

Wapiti is free to answer any and all questions. The translation of his answer is : because you are awesome! He also like fetus skulls.

Mr. Kerpen - Wapiti must have been in a generous mood. I'm so glad that you know Wapitian and could translate for him. Such a galant fellow that Wapiti! And soooo handsome! This sort-of-young maiden would like to chat with you again but, alas, she must return to the 21st century where her pizza is getting cold. I will be in touch, kind gentleman!
